Andrew J. Fortier
Mr. Fortier has 9 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. Prior to joining Birch Hill in 2011, Mr. Fortier was a Vice President at Audax Group, a mid-market private equity firm based in Boston. At Audax he worked on investments in the business services, energy, auto parts, and distribution industries. Previously, Mr. Fortier was an Analyst in the mergers and acquisitions group at Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Fortier received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his H.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.
Matthew B. Kunica
Mr. Kunica has 11 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. He was with TD Capital, Birch Hill's predecessor company from 2003 to 2005. Prior to joining TD Capital, Mr. Kunica was an Associate in the investment banking group at Credit Suisse First Boston where he completed a number of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions assignments for large international corporations in the metals and mining industries. Previously, Mr. Kunica was an Analyst in the investment banking group of BMO Nesbitt Burns.
Mr. Kunica received his Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Mineral Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Felix-Etienne Lebel
Prior to joining Birch Hill in 2010, Mr. Lebel was an Associate at a Canadian private equity firm, where he was responsible for the evaluation, execution and management of middle-market private equity investments. Previously, Mr. Lebel also worked in the Investment Banking division of CIBC World Markets where he completed various mergers and acquisitions transactions and financings, in the technology, media, telecom and consumer products industries.
Mr. Lebel received his B.Com. (Great Distinction) from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder.
Thecla E. Sweeney
Ms. Sweeney has 11 years of experience in private equity, consulting and operations. She was with Birch Hill's predecessor company, TD Capital, from 2004 to 2005. Prior to joining TD Capital, Ms. Sweeney was at Deluce Capital in Business Development where she worked on the business case for a regional airline. Previously, Ms. Sweeney was a consultant at Bain & Company where she consulted on a variety of strategy cases in the retail, telecom and financial services industries. Ms. Sweeney also spent three years in the Chairman’s Office of George Weston Limited.
Ms. Sweeney received her M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario where she graduated as an Ivey Scholar and her B.A. (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario.
