Martin P. Connell

Mr. Connell is former executive chair of Conwest Exploration Company Limited, (acquired by Encana in 1996) co-founder of ACE Bakery Limited, a co- founder and President of Calmeadow, a Toronto-based non-profit organization founded in 1983, the Founding Chairman of the Toronto International Film Festival and the outgoing Chair of the Toronto Community Foundation. Mr. Connell holds honorary doctorate degrees from five Canadian universities. He was awarded the CESO Award for International Development in 1997, Ontario Entrepreneur of the Year in 1995, the Order of Ontario in 1994, the Pearson Peace Medal by the United Nations Association in Canada in 1994, and became a Member of the Order of Canada in 1993 and an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1998.

David A. Galloway

David A. Galloway is presently Chair of the Bank of Montreal and serves on the Board of a number of public companies.  He stepped down as President and CEO of Torstar Corporation in May, 2002 – a position he was appointed to in 1988.  Torstar’s operations include The Toronto Star, Canada’s largest daily newspaper and Harlequin Enterprises, the world’s largest publisher of series romance fiction.  He was President and Chief Executive Officer for Harlequin worldwide from 1982 to 1988. Prior to joining the Harlequin/Torstar group of companies, for ten years, he was a founding partner of the Canada Consulting Group – a leading strategic management consulting firm, which was acquired by the Boston Consulting Group in 1992.  Mr. Galloway received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an Honours BA in Political Science and Economics from University of Toronto.

Stephen K. Gunn

Mr. Gunn is the co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sleep Country Canada. Prior to founding Sleep Country in 1994, he co-founded and was the President of Kenrick Capital, a private equity firm. He was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company from 1981 to 1987. He is a member of the board of directors of Dollarama and Golf Town, and is a past member of the Board of Governors of Crescent School. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University and an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.

Robert F. MacLellan

Mr. MacLellan joined Northleaf as non-executive Chairman in November 2009. In his previous role as Chief Investment Officer of TD Bank Financial Group, Mr. MacLellan was responsible for overseeing the management of investments for The Toronto-Dominion Bank, its Employee Pension Fund, TD Mutual Funds and TD Capital Group. Earlier in his career Mr. MacLellan was Managing Director of Lancaster Financial Holdings, a merchant banking group acquired by TDBFG in March 1995. Prior to that, he was Vice President and Director, McLeod Young Weir Limited (Scotia McLeod) and a member of the Corporate Finance Department responsible for a large number of corporate underwritings and financial advisory assignments. Mr. MacLellan holds a B.Comm. from Carleton University, an M.B.A. from Harvard University and is a Chartered Accountant. Mr. MacLellan's directorships include Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd., Ace Aviation, T. Rowe Price and the Board of Trustees of the United Way of Greater Toronto. In 2008, he was named one of Canada's most influential investment executives by Globe Investor.

Sam Minzberg

Mr. Minzberg is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial and Taxation practices of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg in Montreal. He is also a member of the firm's Management Committee. Sam specializes in corporate, commercial and tax law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, investment funds and advising high-net-worth families. From January 1, 1998 to December 31, 2002, Sam was President and Chief Executive Officer of Claridge Inc. Claridge acts as a management and holding company on behalf of the Charles R. Bronfman family.

Jean Pierre Ouellet

Mr. Ouellet is currently a venture partner with Capital-St. Laurent, an early stage venture capital fund located in Montreal, Quebec. Mr. Ouellet is a retired lawyer; after articling with Stikeman Elliot, he practiced in the areas of M&A, private and public financing and capital markets. He also worked with Canadian National Railways Inc. as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and member of the senior executive committee of the company. Most recently Mr. Ouellet was the Vice Chairman of RBC Capital Markets, responsible for Quebec. He has served on the board many Canadian public companies such as, Bionair Inc., Hartco Enterprises, C-Mac Inc., GBO Inc., Credit Commercial de France (Canada) in the '80 and '90 and currently sits on the board of Caisse de depot et Placement du Quebec, Richmont Mines Inc., Noranda Income Fund and the MacDonald Stewart Foundation. Mr. Ouellet is a member of the Quebec Advisory Council of Talisman Energy Inc and has also sat on the board of Montreal Economic Institute and the RCGA Foundation. Amongst the many substantial files Mr. Ouellet was involved in, there are the privatization of Air Canada, the privatization of CN where he was lead counsel and the acquisition of the Illinois Central by CN. Mr. Ouellet has a BA and LL.L from the Université de Montréal and B.C.L. from Oxford University (Rhodes Scholar).

Stephen R. Scotchmer

Mr. Scotchmer is a co-founder of Manitou Investment Management Ltd., a discretionary asset manager for high net worth families and individuals. From 1982 to 1987, he served as President of Bay Mills Ltd., a highly profitable TSX-listed company in the business of manufacturing engineered materials. Mr. Scotchmer has served on the board of directors of a number of successful private and publicly-listed companies and currently serves on the boards of directors of Constellation Software Inc. He is an engineering graduate of Queen's University.

William Stedman

Mr. Stedman has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ENTx Capital Corporation, a private holding company specializing in investments in the electric power industry, since its inception in 2001. From 1997 to 2000 he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Pembina Pipeline Corporation, the operating company of Pembina Pipeline Income Fund and from 1993 to 1997, Mr. Stedman was President and Chief Executive Officer of Pembina Corporation, a privately held oil, gas and pipeline company. He is a member of the board of directors of Keyera Facilities Income Fund., a publicly traded natural gas processing company and OMERS Energy Inc, a privately owned oil and gas exploration and production company. Mr. Stedman received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (with distinction) from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University.
